Ecouter Voir
Rennes
Luc introduced Greenfib® to former manufacturer and supplier Rousillhe. Together with Naoned, a manufacturer recognized for its design expertise, they founded the company Biosphère and created the Oxo collection. Biosphère and Greenfib® successfully convinced Ecouter Voir, part of the Vyv Group, to launch this collection exclusively across France for three years in its 800 optical shops. Ecouter Voir produced a TV ad to promote the collection, and several articles appeared in the trade press, with BFMTV reporting on the campaign and France 24 providing coverage as well. Since its inception, Greenfib® has participated in the French Optics and Sustainable Eyewear Congress. With the exclusivity period now complete, Greenfib® will launch the Riley Stone and Armorlux brands in 2024, with additional eyewear brands planned for 2025.
Rousillhe has achieved an industry first by recovering and recycling machining shavings to remanufacture eyeglasses, while Greenfib® supported Ecouter Voir’s press launch with an educational Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) game. In-store collection points further promote the recycling of small Greenfib® objects. Economically, 30,000 frames have been sold, attracting the attention of influencers, business leaders, and environmental experts such as F. Guerin (Cetih), A. Dumetz (Germe), and JP Goux (revolutionbleue.fr).
Greenfib®, patented in 2011, is composed of a binder extracted from castor oil, organic fillers (wood fiber, reed, sea silk), and calcium carbonate (from marble waste or oyster shells). It is 100% bio-based, sustainable, recyclable, and derived from non-food crops, meeting the needs of companies seeking a responsible alternative to conventional plastic. Etymologically, “economy” means “management of the house,” while “ecology” means “knowledge of the house”—we offer a fitting answer to a well-asked question. “With ambition and humility, we contribute to an ecologically mature world, in harmony with all living things. Together, we can act differently to make this vision both possible and inspiring—through our materials, while remembering that the least polluting materials are those we don’t produce. And through our shared commitment to sustainable behaviors. Each of us brings our unique approach, but together, we can accomplish much more…”
