Greenfib®, patented in 2011, is composed of a binder extracted from castor oil, organic fillers (wood fiber, reed, sea silk), and calcium carbonate (from marble waste or oyster shells). It is 100% bio-based, sustainable, recyclable, and derived from non-food crops, meeting the needs of companies seeking a responsible alternative to conventional plastic. Etymologically, “economy” means “management of the house,” while “ecology” means “knowledge of the house”—we offer a fitting answer to a well-asked question. “With ambition and humility, we contribute to an ecologically mature world, in harmony with all living things. Together, we can act differently to make this vision both possible and inspiring—through our materials, while remembering that the least polluting materials are those we don’t produce. And through our shared commitment to sustainable behaviors. Each of us brings our unique approach, but together, we can accomplish much more…”

The Environmental Benefits

  • Greenfib® is 100% biobased, durable, recyclable, and derived from non-food crops. It serves as a replacement for petroleum-based plastics, meeting the needs of companies seeking an ECOLOGICALLY RESPONSIBLE material
  • The Greenfib Manner involves developing a business model aligned with the challenges of tomorrow (CSR), while supporting its industrial ecosystem, clients, and users of Greenfib® products to adopt the same mindset.
  • Greenfib® compounds have a significantly lower climate impact, reducing emissions by 40–75% compared to fossil-based resins like ABS, HDPE, and PP. They address the urgent need to minimize impacts on living ecosystems through a regenerative approach.
  • Greenfib® compounds have a significantly lower impact on climate change, reducing emissions by 40% to 75% compared to fossil-based resins (ABS, HDPE, PP), when accounting for the biogenic CO2 stored in PA 11 resin.
  • Greenfib is now, both historically and in terms of volume, Arkema's primary partner in using recycled PA11 and optimizing its performance in terms of emissions.
  • Greenfib® primarily uses ingredients that do not come from food-producing land, but rather from reed beds (such as La Brenne) or waste materials from local Breton industries, including wood, mussels, and more.

The Financial Benefits

  • The technical performance of objects made from Greenfib® material truly makes them durable over time.
  • The Greenfib brand visible on the objects helps users become aware of this, encouraging behaviors that give real substance to the material’s durability potential.
