Air quality has become an issue worldwide, most importantly because of the harm it causes to people, but also because of regulations which demand companies worldwide to abide to air quality emission standards. The goal for this solution is to help companies operating in harsh terrains to be able to monitor the air quality in the area of operations, thus being able abide to these laws. The solution: the Andean Drone, a drone aimed towards mining companies operating in harsh conditions, named after the Andes mountains in Peru. This drone is capable of flying in altitudes up to 5000 meters above sea level, wind velocities of up to 30 km/h, resistant to rain and extreme climates. This drone is adequate for working in the harsh conditions where mining operations usually take place. It carries a load which monitors the concentration of particulate matter and pollutant gasses. The collected data is then transformed into a real time contamination map.
