Description

MyGrid was selected by Alliander, a major Dutch grid distributor, for a Living Lab (running until April 2026), in which we will help fight grid congestion at the local level, specifically at the transformer substation. As part of this initiative, 100 ModuleOne units will be remotely managed by Alliander to effectively remediate grid congestion in a specific Amsterdam neighborhood, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable energy distribution system.

Impact & Result

In this Alliander Living Lab, we aim to remediate grid congestion with our plug and play home battery, ModuleOne. Apart from fighting grid congestion, every ModuleOne saves around 270 kilograms of CO2 per year, and can save the consumer up to 300 euro a year.

Solution Spotlight

ModuleOne, MyGrid's bidirectional plug and play home battery revolutionises the home battery market. Like any traditional home battery, it can store excess solar power. Yet many households do not have access to solar power, think renters and apartment dwellers. So we created ModuleOne to address this problem and include all households. ModuleOne can charge power from the grid when prices are low, and discharge when they peak, allowing for more households than ever to partake in the energy transition. ModuleOne is plug and play, meaning no electrician is required, no modification to your home grid need to be made. No certification either. Just plug ModuleOne into any ordinary wall socket, select your saving options and go. ModuleOne is bidirectional, meaning it can not only draw power from the grid through any ordinary wall socket, but also inject power on the grid, allowing ModuleOne to trade on the imbalance market for extra saving.
