Description

L’Occitane chose Liquid Bulk Expert to accelerate their approach towards a more virtuous consumption and the reduction of waste. As a result of collective awareness, the zero waste approach is increasingly being extended from food products to cosmetics. Jean Bouteille provides grocery stores with self-service dispensers, organic liquid products and reusable and returnable bottles. Liquid Bulk Expert is present in more than 1000 stores with self-dispensers to distribute zero waste organic liquid products for consumers in France and Europe.

Impact & Result

The prototype phase allowed us to make the necessary adjustments because we worked in parallel with the subsidiaries to take into account their country constraints, and we were able to arrive with 60 distributors in the launch phase in more than twenty countries .

Solution Spotlight

Each household produces 568KG of wastes every year in France. There is also too much food waste with 150 kg per capita per year. (ADEME, 2018). Moreover, millions of glass bottles are thrown away when they have only been used once. To solve these problems, Liquids Bulk Expert uses the glass bottle reuse to prevent it from ending up in the trash! The Solution seeks to build a zero-waste system of distribution and consumption. It provides grocery stores with self-service dispensers, organic liquid products and reusable & returnable bottles. At the store, the consumer buys a bottle and can refill it as many times as he/she wants with various products (wine, oil, vinegar, spirits, dish liquid, soap, shampoo, etc.). If he/she chooses to, it is possible to sell it back to the store and Liquids Bulk Expert will collect and wash it before reintroducing it in stores. This is a circular business model built on the functional economy (selling the use of the bottle and not the bottle itself), on the waste prevention (reusing bottles) and promoting a sustainable consumption (be aware of the environmental-impact of your consumption). The Solution is present in more than 1000 stores with self-dispensers to distribute zero waste organic liquid products for consumers in France and Europe
