Maturity stage TRL 9 / CRI 3-4 - Commercial Scale Up / Multiple commercial Applications

Between 10-30% of ingredients in dishwashing liquids are made of oil. The detergent industry is a significant driver for palm oil demand. Biological dishwashing liquids - except Good Soaps - contain palm oil or other tropical oils. Palm oil plantations are among the main causes for slash and burn practices in tropical areas. Many species are endangered due the loss of habitat in rainforests. Good Soaps has pioneered in developing sustainable formulations based on European vegetable oil. Using European vegetable oil instead of palm oil reduces demand for tropical oil and helps to protect tropical rainforests. Due to the same application of Good Soaps' products, customers don't need to change their habits. In addition, Good Soaps produces highly concentrated products in order to increase efficiency and reduce packaging. As a result, consumers buy more active ingredients, less water and therefore less packaging. Good Soaps has invented entirely new formulations to replace palm oil with local raw material.

The Environmental Benefits

  • Savings between 100 and 300g tropical oil/mineral oil per kg dishwashing liquid
  • More than 99% plant-based ingredients
  • More than 99% biodegradable

  • 3L packaging saves 80% of plastic packaging compared to the same product amount in usual 500 ml packs
  • Reduces transportation by about 20.000km for every kg of oil

The Financial Benefits
