Maturity stage TRL 7 - Prototype testing in the real world

Addressing the need for efficient farming tools to fight the effects of climate change, agrivoltaic dynamic system aims to provide mutual and balanced benefits between agriculture and energy production. Solar panels are operated in real-time by adapting their position to the physiological needs of plants and protecting them from frost and hail. Algorithms combine weather forecasting and plants modelling such as needs and growth cycle, in order to make, in real-time, decisions adapted to the fields rather than theoretical plots. This solution has a positive impact on crop yield, water consumption and product quality while providing additional energy production capacity. This approach does not create land-use conflicts between agriculture and energy production, allowing both PV operators to have quality lands and farmers to increase their crop yield. In the context of scarcity, this system meets the main challenges of sustainable development and brings true value to farmers.
