Jiro-Ve has developed a solar powered charging station for power banks, which are sold with a small charging cable compatible with phones for only 3$. Once the customer owns the power bank, they can have it recharged for 0,10$. From this amount, 10% goes in commissions to the shop owner, who operates the smart charger. More importantly, 15% goes back to the customers, allowing them to save up for more powerful energy solutions. This way, they ensure that a whole village can be served through one central solar system, setting people on a path to grow towards more powerful energy solutions.
The Environmental Benefits
- •The 81,550 beneficiaries reached in 2019 with Jiro-Ve´s products replaced kerosene lamps that would have emitted 4,490 tons of CO2
The Financial Benefits
- •The power bank recharge costs 0.02 eurocents cheaper than buying a candle.
