About
Current shared transport solutions do not fulfil users' needs: providing the service at the right time + in the right place. And prove too costly (operation/infrastructure), especially in periurban areas.
METACAR develops KIWEE, a disruptive micro-mobility solution for people and goods (last mile). KIWEE electric quadricycles can nest into a 10-unit roadtrain, drastically improving the efficiency of redistribution, charging and parking - 1 driver / 1 charging station for 10 units.
Currently, the company is made of its 4 co-founders (individuals). For this 1st roundtable, they are currently fundraising 3M€ equity (27% shares) - of which 2M€ are secured as of today (mainly business angels), still looking for an institutionnal partner to close the round end of 2022 / early 2023.
Our project offers a leverage effect of x4 as the project is benefiting from +9M€ French Governement subsidies and industrial partners investment (within our partners' diversification strategy in the field of mobility as a service).
This roundtable aims at finalizing R&D work on the solution (starting from functional prototypes) to go thru homologation and production of a pilot fleet in order to test Kiwee in real-life conditions. 2 pilot sites are already secured aiming at 2 use cases : close-by trips within an industrial zone in the Greater Lyon (France), in complement to public transport, and the Geneva area for trans-borders mobility issues, in complement to both public transpoort and private car usage as a complement to park&ride services.
